Sanctuary 2022 ripe 100g
For Sanctuary, we’ve come up with a delightful and rich blend of teas from Meng Song and Mengku and commissioned a pressing of 100 gram cakes. Both leaves for this blend are from farms we’ve sourced other teas from, grown completely without pesticides/sprays. The wet-piling of the Mengku tea brought out a nice mushroom brininess, reminiscent of damp earth and woods, with hints of dark chocolate and sweetness.
The Meng Song leaves were spring 2021 picked and ripened in May 2021. The Mengku leaves were spring 2021 picked, stored and then ripened in November of 2021. We love these two leaves together and know that you will, too. This tea will really open up over the next year and a half, developing in complexity and depth.

Basic Brewing Instructions:
Ripe Pu'er may be given two 5-10 second rinses with the same temperature water as used for brewing.
212˚ F water temperature.
Use 1-3 teaspoons per 8 Oz. of filtered water.
Recommended first steeping of 30 seconds - 1 minute. Add 30 seconds for each subsequent infusion.
Tea brewing is meant to be a joyful exploration. There are no hard and fast rules. Experiment with the quantity of tea that you use, and steeping times. Enjoy discovering what your preferences are. They may change day to day.
